This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Telenor Connexion joins Philips Professional Display Solutions roadshow.

TP Vision/MMD, the company marketing and selling Philips branded signage solutions and professional TV's, has initiated a marketing cooperation with Telenor Connexion, the global supplier of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

Telenor Connexion delivers IoT technology that can enable the use of Philips' Signage solutions by for instance merchants and restaurants across the world. During the Philips European roadshow starting June 1st an array of Philips products will be showcased.

Telenor Connexion will present different examples of commercial display setups during the Philips European Roadshow 2018 that started 1 June. The roadshow will be visiting Milan, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Paris, Madrid, London and Stockholm. During the roadshow Telenor Connexion and Philips will be showing resellers the unique selling points of the Philips Professional Display Solutions and the technology behind them.

There is a growing demand for digital displays that deliver high-resolution content in shops, restaurants and public spaces. With fleets of displays spread over wide distances, digital signage service integrators need a solution to improve processes, increase ROI and capture new business opportunities.

Instead of using limited and often troublesome LAN and Wi-Fi connections, delivering content to displays using mobile networks has become increasingly attractive. IoT SIM cards embedded in media players make it possible to connect digital displays to cellular broadband networks as easily as connecting your phone.

By empowering SoC displays with IoT SIM cards they can be installed anywhere in the world where there are mobile networks. Instead of buying a separate SIM card solution in each market, the Telenor Connexion Global SIM gives digital signage integrators access to Telenor's worldwide network, supported by dedicated IoT connectivity experts. This means that service integrators can manage and deliver content globally, with the power to adjust content on individual displays. The end result is increased control of the communication chain, reduced installation and service costs, and easier fulfilment of service level agreements (SLAs) with end customers.

Philips Professional Display Solutions offers a wide range of digital signage displays. Among them are the D-line and P-line which provides performance designed for optimal image quality and a reliable 24/7 display of your content. Based on Android SoC there is no need for external media players, which means saving installation time and no messy cabling.

In addition, these displays come with an mPCIe slot for integrating the optional 4G module enabling the IoT SIM cards of Telenor.

"We believe that the benefits of using a global IoT SIM card solution will open up new opportunities for further business development together with our most valuable resellers in Europe", said Tim de Ruiter, Business Manager Europe, Middle East & Africa at Philips Professional Display Solutions. "Telenor Connexion is a very strong partner in this and their scalable and secure solution is a great way for us to deliver best possible plug and play solution on the market."

The roadshow is an opportunity for Telenor Connexion and Philips Professional Display Solutions to show resellers the end-user benefits of Philips' SoC displays and also the strong advantages of the partnership between the two companies.

"The Digital Signage market is driven by European system integrators supported by the leading global screen manufacturers", said Anders Nilsson, Regional Sales Manager EMEA at Telenor Connexion. "Our global IoT SIM card solution reduces the time for on-site installation at the same time as delivering the best possible service level agreement fulfillment to the customer. Philips' strong line of hardware and solutions is a great match with Telenor Connexion and we are looking forward to a great roadshow where we can help to develop the commercial display market by showing the benefits for the end customers."
