Scandit, the provider of smart data capture solutions, has been named to the 2022 CB Insights Retail Tech 100 ranking, which showcases the 100 most promising B2B retail tech companies in the world.

The news follows hot on the heels of Scandit’s Series D funding announcement, which made Scandit one of Europe’s newest unicorns with a company valuation in excess of $1billion.

The 2022 Retail Tech 100 cohort highlights start-ups and future market leaders who are reimagining the retail experience across 13 categories, including autonomous delivery, hyper-personalised shopping, and more. Scandit Smart Data Capture platform, leveraging computer vision, machine learning and augmented reality demonstrated the innovative retail technology CB Insights has recognised in this year’s rankings.

Named in the store operations and analytics category of the 2022 Retail Tech 100 list, Scandit recently announced ShelfView to help retailers improve their shelf-level visibility for improved in-store execution of pricing, promotion and inventory levels. ShelfView is a smart data capture and analytics solution for retail shelf management that empowers more intelligent and efficient store operations leveraging existing mobile devices or autonomous floor scrubbers.

Brian Lee, SVP of CB Insights’ Intelligence Unit, says: “By almost any measure, this has been a breakout year for retail tech. We’ve seen skyrocketing funding across the industry, powering companies involved in every aspect of retail from instant grocery delivery to supply chain technology. As the retail landscape evolves, we’re excited to see how the companies on the Retail Tech 100 continue to revolutionise how consumers shop.”

Samuel Mueller, CEO of Scandit says: “Scandit’s vision is to transform the daily lives of customers, workers and businesses, enabling enhanced, personalised experiences and enabling retailers in their digital transformation journey. To be selected in this ranking and noted as a market leader is very gratifying. Our Smart Data Capture platform addresses the current challenges in retail including labour shortages, increased customer expectations, and the rise of omnichannel.”

He added, “We live in a world where many businesses, including retail, are susceptible to external shocks and must react quickly to societal change. Our computer vision, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies running on smart devices enable retailers to adapt, and by blending the physical and digital worlds we make life simpler for workers, enhance processes and increase efficiencies for businesses, and deliver a compelling in-store customer experience.”
