BCP adds digital voucher and Pennies Charity Box capabilities to its epos software solution

UK Retail software specialist Business Computer Projects Ltd (BCP) has added two enhancements to its epos software solution for the benefit of its retail customers.

The first enhancement is an interface to mobile voucher and redemption specialist Eagle Eye so that retailers who use BCP's retail software can take full advantage of the growing popularity of digital vouchers and coupons in the retail sector.

The key to any digital voucher is the ability to redeem simply and securely, in real time and with the ability to track customer usage. By integrating its EPoS offering to Eagle Eye through the chip & pin terminal BCP delivers that vision today for retailers simply and cost effectively. Customers with a digital voucher or coupon on their mobile device simply enter the pin into the store pin pad. The EPoS system processes it immediately and the price at the till is adjusted. At the same time the system creates a redemption report which can be aggregated to deliver real business intelligence so the retailer can measure the success of promotions and plan future marketing and promotional activities effectively.

The second enhancement is an interface to UK registered charity The Pennies Foundation so that retailers who use BCP's retail software can give their customers the chance to join in and support a number of UK registered charities, including well-known names like Macmillan, Alzheimer's Society, RNIB and NSPCC.

The Pennies electronic charity box, created by The Pennies Foundation, makes giving to charity easy and affordable for shoppers and by doing this raises additional money for UK registered charities. It's a chance for people to give pennies not pounds with a single click. It's like the box to collect cash change for charity but it works instead with card payments. Customers can join in when they purchase their shopping in-store and pay by card knowing their contribution is secure and private.

It works very simply. Customers are given a choice when paying for their shopping to round up their bill to the nearest pound. They just need to press 'YES' on the Chip & Pin machine to donate the small change to charity. The money then goes to The Pennies Foundation which adds the pennies into pounds and gets all of the money raised to UK registered charities, where it will be put to work.
